It was in August of 2004 that our daughter, Merrian Carver. went missing from her home in Cambridge. Since we lived in Arizona, in order to determine what happened,... read more it was necessary for us to take action to gain legal authority to move forward since she was 40 years old and was an adult. We turned to Blake Law firm to assist in our effort. We were assigned to Carolyn Martello Spaulding who was assigned to work with us.
We never could have anticipated that we were starting a journey which after months, through the efforts of the firm, lead us to determine that we were dealing with a cover up regarding the disappearance of Merrian. After months, it was determined that she had taken a cruise. It was also determined that the cruise line had cover-up her disappearance and disposed of her personal item.
During our months of investigation, it was the guidance of Carolyn and David Blake that lead the way. They were outstanding to work with.
Our daughter’s disappearance became the subject of five congressional hearings. Through the efforts of Sen. John Kerry, historic legislation was passed to protect the public from crimes on cruise ships. Her story is still being told in the world wide media.
